• IBM Widens Its Lead in Worldwide Server Revenue Share, Maintains Top Position With Growth in Power Systems and System z SalesARMONK, NY--(Marketwire - August 21, 2008) - Gartner has reported that IBM ( NYSE : IBM ) heldits number one position as the leading vendor in worldwide server revenue,widening its lead over the competition in the second quarter of 2008.According to Gartner data, IBM captured 31.2 percent of all server revenueworldwide [1]. For the second quarter of 2008, Gartner reported the following: IBM's server leadership was driven by Power Systems and System z. Power Systems captured 35.7 percent revenue share of Gartner's Unixservers category. All IBM brands in Gartner's over $250,000 server category combined tocapture 59.7 percent revenue share; System z captured 33.6 percent revenueshare in the category. IBM reigned in 45.4 percent revenue share for servers priced at $10,000or more.
